Accessibility Statement(Our commitment to making JROTC CCC usable by everyone)
Carey Unlimited LLC is committed to making JROTC CCC usable by everyone, including instructors, judges and cadets who rely on assistive technology. This statement describes the standard we work to, where the Service stands today, how we tested it, and how to tell us about a barrier.
1. Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice rule for state and local government web content and by most school district procurement reviews.
2. Current Status
JROTC CCC partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means that most of the Service meets the standard and the known exceptions are listed in section 4 with their planned remediation. Last evaluated: October 24, 2026.
3. How We Tested
- Automated scan with axe-core (WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules) of 53 page states across every user role: public pages, school registration, competition hosting, scheduling, judge scoring and results.
- Keyboard-only pass of the judge scoring wizard: every control was checked for Tab reachability, visible focus and activation with Enter and Space, and for one-tap behavior on touch screens.
- Contrast evaluation of every color in the generated school palette against the text drawn on it.
- Static review of the source with eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y, which is part of the project's lint rules.
- A screen-reader evaluation with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on iOS of the same screens is scheduled; this statement will be updated with its results.
4. Known Exceptions
Each item below is tracked and will be removed from this list when it ships.
- Academic exam time limits are set per event by the competition host. A cadet entitled to extended time should be scheduled by the host with the adjusted limit; a per-cadet extension is planned.
- The screen-reader evaluation described in section 3 has not yet been completed; items it surfaces will be added here with target dates.
5. Compatibility
JROTC CCC is designed to work with the current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and can be installed as a progressive web app. It respects the operating system's reduced-motion preference and allows page zoom.
6. Feedback
If you encounter a barrier, or need content in another format, please tell us through the contact page. Include the page, the assistive technology you use and what happened. We respond within five business days and treat accessibility barriers as defects to be fixed, not requests to be scheduled.
7. Documentation for Districts
A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) / Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) in the ITI VPAT 2.5 WCAG edition is available on request for school district and agency procurement reviews, along with the dated audit report that this statement summarizes.
